1.Sadie's BnB 2 (Pago Pago & Tutuila)

Let's kick this list off with a true home away from home, but a little fancier, Sadie's BnB 2.
You'll find seven comfortable rooms spread across two levels, giving you plenty of space to spread out and truly relax.
What we love about this place is how thoughtfully it's set up. There are two lounge areas (one upstairs, one down), so you'll never feel crowded, plus a large communal kitchen where you can whip up your own meals and save a few dollars.
The little luxuries here really make a difference – there's a pool table for those competitive evenings and a huge TV perfect for movie nights after a big day out. You won't need to worry about the basics either, as fresh linens, paper goods and towel laundering are all sorted, with housekeeping popping by twice a week.
The dogs on site add to that genuine homely feel, and whether you're planning a quick three-day getaway or a longer stay, this place has you covered. Just note there's a three-day minimum stay requirement.
If that wasn't enough, the multiple lounge areas and large communal spaces give families plenty of room to spread out and relax together.
Route 017, Fagagogo, west side of Tutuila. Take the first turn-off at the road corners the runway. It's the turn-off before Moana O Sina. The BnB is midway down the turn-off road. Take the third driveway to your right, and then it is the house at the end to your right.
2.Sadie's BnB 1 (Pago Pago & Tutuila)

If the above holiday home is a little too much or you just really want a swimming pool, check out this smaller property, Sadie's BnB 1.
This two-storey gem comes with five bedrooms and a lovely swimming pool area where you can unwind after exploring. What we love about this place is how cleverly it's designed – each floor works as its own self-contained unit with separate living spaces and kitchens.
The downstairs level features two bedrooms, one bathroom, a comfortable living room and kitchen, all kept cool with air conditioning throughout.
Head upstairs and you'll discover three more bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious open-air room that combines the living area and kitchen. It's a fantastic space for group gatherings, though you'll want to note that only the bedrooms have air conditioning up here.
The entire house is yours as one rental unit, which means plenty of privacy and space for everyone to spread out. WiFi is included in the price, so you can stay connected without any extra costs. But you won't have to worry about doing the house chores with housekeeping popping in twice a week with fresh bedding and paper goods.
Note there's a three-day minimum stay requirement.
With five bedrooms spread across two floors, families can enjoy plenty of space and the convenience of separate living areas for different age groups.
Route 017, Fagagogo, west side of Tutuila. Take the first turn-off at the road corners the runway. It's the turn-off before Moana O Sina. The BnB is midway down the road, about 175 yards (160 m).
3.Tradewinds Hotel (Pago Pago, Tutuila)

A fun swimming pool, a convenient restaurant and family-friendly rooms, Tradewinds Hotel easily helps families transition into holiday mode. Not to mention, it's right by the airport!
You'll find this is American Samoa's largest, cleanest and most comprehensive hotel. The four room and suite types all feature Balinese-inspired furnishings rather than traditional Samoan décor, which gives the place an alternative tropical feel.
Every room comes with an ensuite, and here's what we love most—guests get free airport transfers and complimentary continental breakfast. This adds serious value, especially if you're on a short stay or dealing with a layover.
The hotel features solid conference facilities, plus there's a swimming pool for when you need some downtime.
For dining, the on-site Equator Bar & Restaurant is an effortless fallback, serving American-style favourites (think burgers and grilled mains). The bar next door is a popular hangout for federal workers looking to catch up.
Some of the usual essentials you'll have to pay for, like WiFi and laundry machines. But with an on-site gym, a small on-site spa, coffee and souvenir shop and vehicle rentals, as well as an ultra-convenient location just moments from Pago Pago International Airport, you'll be happy to disconnect.
Our favourite pick for families is the "Standard (Taupou) Room", boasting two queen-sized beds and a spacious bathroom.
4.Tisa's Eco Fales (Pago Pago & Tutuila)

For a memorable stay in the islands, your family will no doubt be talking about your stay at Tisa's Eco Fales for years to come.
As the only Samoan-style fale in American Samoa, the lodge offers a slightly more comfortable twist on traditional accommodation with real beds, table and chairs, driftwood and nautical décor, plus plenty of space to unwind.
These 25-year-old structures sit directly on the beach, masterfully crafted using traditional building practices with local timber and bamboo that blend seamlessly with the natural environment. Meanwhile, your gracious hosts and the original owners, Tisa and CandyMann offer unmatched hospitality.
Accommodating up to four guests with a minimum two-night stay, your experience includes healthy (and plentiful) meals for breakfast and dinner, complemented by thoughtful eco-friendly touches like organic soap and fresh spring water, with purified water sourced from the mountains. Despite the traditional design, modern conveniences like high-speed internet ensure you stay connected when needed.
On-site, you'll find Tisa's Barefoot Bar – a must-visit destination, especially for their Wednesday umu night LINK#TTD042, whether you're staying here or not.
Join their island tours and eco-experiences, like the Alega Marine Sanctuary snorkelling tour, or simply enjoy spending time at one of the country's best beach accommodations, just a 15-minute drive from Pago Pago town.
The spacious fale comfortably accommodates families of four, with included meals making it perfect for hassle-free family holidays.
Route 001, Alega, east side of Tutuila.
5.Sadie's By The Sea (Pago Pago, Tutuila)

For that holiday resort vibe and an effortless stay for families, look no further than Sadie's By The Sea.
The private beach offers an idyllic place to watch the sunrise and swim, while the restaurant seating positioned just above the sand provides the perfect spot to dine with ocean views.
Centrally located within walking distance of Pago Pago dock, restaurants and government offices, you'll find easy access to everything the town has to offer.
While housed in a pretty dated building, the hotel makes up for this with vibrant artwork and all the amenities you could want, like iron, coffee facilities, microwaves, free WiFi and laundry machines that take quarters. Trust us, all of this isn't easy to find in Pago.
Speaking of its 40 well-appointed rooms, configurations include two queen beds, queen plus single bed combinations, and king bed options, with four "King Deluxe" rooms featuring extended lounge areas and futons for extra space.
Goat Island Café serves as the resort's popular dining destination, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner in an open-air setting that captures the tropical atmosphere and hosts live entertainment on Fridays.
Beyond the beach, guests can enjoy the outdoor pool and take advantage of the on-site convention centre for events.
All in all, the well-rounded experience of accommodation, dining and beachfront entertainment all in one place makes Sadie's By The Sea an irresistible choice for families.
Route 001, Utulei, Pago Pago, Tutuila.
6.Fitiuta Lodge (Manu'a Islands)

If you're treating the tribe to an outer island trip, seriously consider staying at Fituta Lodge on Ta'ū Island.
You'll have seven affordable "Matai Deluxe Rooms" to choose from in the Maluimauga Fale, with shared bathrooms, or you can treat yourself to one of eight modern and luxurious "Oceanview Ali'i Suites" in the Maluatia Fale (both accommodate one to two guests), each with an ensuite and access to a terrace with views of the runway and coast. There's also a two-bedroom standalone house with a full kitchen and living room that gives you complete independence.
We love that all the essentials come free: air conditioning, high-speed WiFi and those stunning views of the surrounding villages and airport. The lodge takes care of your transfers too, providing complimentary airport and wharf pickups, plus they'll help coordinate alia boat day trips Ofu.
Perhaps the most valuable offering at Fitiuta Lodge, however, is its truck and bicycle rental, as well as the ability to arrange guides to Ta'ū's more challenging attractions, like the Luifuta Waterfall.
Every morning starts with a continental breakfast, but here's something special we discovered—if you're staying in the Maluatia Fale and your visit falls on a Sunday, you'll get to witness an authentic umu cooking demonstration followed by a traditional to'ona'i meal (it's an experience you won't forget).
The lodge also offers laundry services, a spacious lanai and living room for relaxing, plus an on-site convenience store, ATM and rental vehicles. Lunch and dinner are available upon request if you don't feel like venturing out.
Needless to say, the two-bedroom standalone house provides ample space and kitchen facilities perfect for families, while the experience is rounded off with the hands-on cultural activities on offer that kids will love.

Va'oto Lodge, on the natural playground of Ofu Island, is ideal for adventurous families.
This charming family-run lodge sits within spacious gardens, directly across from the beach and island airstrip. You'll have easy access to excellent snorkelling at Ofu Va'oto Marina Park (and snorkelling gear is available).
The lodge provides transfers from the wharf if you're arriving by boat. All units have a double and single bed with ensuite bathrooms (with hot water, which is worth mentioning for the Manu'as), and the lodge's rooms are equipped with mini-fridges, air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Self-caterers can use the open kitchen and purchase food from the well-stocked pantry and fridge. Otherwise, groups can request meals and even an umu experience with plenty of advanced notice.
We love that guests get complimentary use of bikes, snorkelling gear, books and board games, perfect for exploring or relaxing during quieter moments. They also offer a kayak and a paddleboard, giving you even more ways to make the most of the lodge's stunning beach.
The complimentary bikes and board games, plus the safe beach location across the quiet road, make this perfect for families with children.
Route 020, Va'oto, Ofu Island, Manu'a Islands. Right by the airstrip.
8.Maliu Mai Beach Resort (Pago Pago, Tutuila)

Families looking for a more authentic stay in the Pago Pago area, check out Maliu Mai Beach Resort.
This charming accommodation sits uniquely tucked between the runway and the coast, offering a total of 10 rooms available for guests. The resort also features two conference rooms for events or meetings.
Run by a welcoming local American Samoan family, the property showcases intriguing pillar architecture that's been lovingly restored through gradual renovations over the years.
While the shoreline is mostly rocky with a bit of sandy beach in between, the spectacular sea views from your ocean-view room more than make up for it. And instead of your average swimming pool, they have a tidal pool built into the cliffs.
Another way to spend your time here is to take part in a block-printing workshop to create your own Am Sam souvenir - see the 10 Best Cultural Activities in American Samoa LINK#TTD002 for more details.
But the real magic happens in the spacious dining hall and especially out on the deck, where the lively bar service truly makes this place shine. This is also where you'll be able to connect to the hotel's WiFi and play a game of pool.
For those staying more than one night, note that a US$200 security deposit is required (cash only).
Note that family rooms consist of two double beds, rather than singles, but they are spacious enough for most.
Route 017, Tafuna, west side of Tutuila. Follow the road all the way to the end, and Maliu Mai is signposted.
9.Eseta's Homestay (Manu'a Islands)

For a truly authentic Samoan stay for families, consider a homestay like the delightful Eseta's Homestay on Ta'ū Island.
This authentic homestay experience offers the perfect introduction to genuine Manu'a hospitality, with Eseta serving as your local guide and host extraordinaire. The accommodation features three clean and comfortable ground-floor rooms with air conditioning, tiled floors and comfortable beds, with two rooms sharing a bathroom.
What truly sets this place apart is Eseta's genuine warmth and home-cooked Samoan fare, prepared by her or family members to fill your stomach true Samoan style. If you're not satisfied with the daily offerings (though we can't imagine why), she always stocks the communal area with noodles, snacks and hot drinks for guests to help themselves.
The affordable rates include air conditioning, free WiFi and complimentary laundry services, plus there's an on-site shop (though Eseta typically ensures you're well-equipped with snacks before any adventures). She can organise island tours through her local connections, often with the pastor's daughter or the pastor himself as your guide.
The location couldn't be more convenient, sitting less than 1.6 km (1 mi) from the airport and about 4.8 km (3 mi) from the boat dock.
With Eseta's warm approach and the communal atmosphere, families are made to feel instantly welcome and cared for.

Another fantastic holiday home for families seeking their own space, M&M Rental is an attractive choice on Olosega Island.
The fully air-conditioned house features two bedrooms, each with a double-sized bed, a fully functioning kitchen, and a spacious living room that comfortably sleeps up to six people (with extra mattresses available for larger groups).
When you book, you'll have the entire house to yourself, creating the perfect private retreat. While there's no car on-site, the owners can arrange airport transfers through local contacts (although you might want to pay US$10-$15 as a tip to your driver).
With two small grocery stores nearby and the option to request meal plans or have the kitchen pre-stocked with essentials, you'll have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Free WiFi keeps you connected, though you'll find the peaceful village atmosphere and friendly neighbours make you feel like a true local.
If that wasn't enough, the spacious layout and extra mattresses make this ideal for families wanting to stay together under one roof.

11.Ma'atoa Rental Units (Manu'a Islands)

Tucked away in the bush, the colourful building block of Ma'atoa Rental Units combines adventure and convenience for families.
The apartment accommodation offers eight spacious self-catering units perfect for travellers seeking privacy and independence.
Each unit features air conditioning in both the living room and bedroom, ceiling fans, insect-screened windows and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave, gas stove and oven.
While the units provide essential amenities like drip coffee and basic cooking utensils, guests should note that hot water and toiletries aren't provided, and WiFi is only available at one end of the property or at the owner's shop.
Originally built as low-income housing, these units have been given a major facelift with tasteful yet minimalistic decor and fully tiled flooring, ensuring a homely and comfortable space that guests can enjoy all to themselves.
If that wasn't enough, the spacious units and self-catering facilities make this a practical choice for families who prefer preparing their own meals and having plenty of room to spread out.

12.Pago Pago Airport Inn (Pago Pago & Tutuila)

A hotel with a family-friendly vibe and irresistible prices, Pago Pago Airport Inn is definitely worth considering.
For over 30 years, the accommodation has remained a steadfastly family-run establishment that operates on a refreshingly straightforward, word-of-mouth approach. This no-frills accommodation offers some of the most affordable rates on the island, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious travellers seeking comfortable lodging.
All rooms are configured similarly with two beds and come equipped with a fridge, though breakfast isn't provided on-site. The inn features a guest-only swimming pool designed primarily for exercise and a ground-floor meeting fale.
While there's no on-site restaurant, you'll find excellent local dining options within short driving distance. There's also a laundromat down the road, if needed.
The atmosphere remains delightfully informal and personal, reflecting its community-oriented roots as a place originally established for travelling missionaries.
What's more, the inn regularly hosts families alongside church groups and sports teams, creating a welcoming community atmosphere.
Tafuna, west side of Tutuila. From the McDonald's roundabout in Tafuna, take the west exit and continue down the road past Angel's Beauty Spa. Turn right at the one-way road intersection. Pago Pago Airport Inn is signposted approximately 380 yards (350 m) down this road.
