They also stock beautiful wood carvings like traditional clubs, alongside more modern pieces such as earrings and jewellery, plus clothing like lavalava.

As the name suggests, there's also a little café with a couple of tables, though it's mainly a takeaway spot. They do proper barista-style coffee and serve what we reckon are the biggest cheesecake slices we've ever laid eyes on!

12.Jennifer Grey

We've mentioned the abundance of Chinese imports throughout American Samoa, but if you're after that designer look without the designer price tag, you'll love boutique stores like Jennifer Grey.

This gem stocks stylish bags and wallets from brands like Coach, Kate Spade and Michael Kors at much more reasonable prices. You'll find it tucked away in a small shopping centre in Nu'uuli (near Manu's Pizza), and we're delighted by how well-maintained the shop is.

The lovely couple who run it named the store after their daughter, which adds a personal touch we really appreciate. From what we've experienced, it's worth making the trip if you're looking for quality accessories without breaking the bank.

Find Jennifer Grey open from 10 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm Saturday.

Location: Route 001, Nu'uuli, west side of Tutuila. Look out for Manu's Pizza, signposted along the main road in the shopping centre on the north side of the road. It's approximately 280 mi (260 m) east of the Airport Road (Route 014).

If you're looking for last-minute souvenirs or duty-free bargains, Pago Pago International Airport has you covered with its South Pacific Duty Free store in the departure lounge.

You'll find the usual suspects like alcohol and tobacco, plus some uniquely American Samoan gifts that make perfect mementoes. We're particularly drawn to the locally-made woven fans, siapo (tapa) paintings and crafts.

Probably something you didn't expect are the tins of StarKist Tuna straight from the local cannery!

The store also stocks practical items like caps and T-shirts, perfect if you've forgotten something essential or want to grab a quick gift.

Just remember, the shop is only open for flight departures and closes on Sundays, so plan accordingly if you're hoping to do some shopping before your journey home.
